Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.
Levee en Masse – ($2.99)
Board game developer Victory Point Games first published Levee en Masse in physical form two years ago, but now a digital version is available too. Three dollars will buy you this unique strategy-focused retelling of the events of the French Revolution, which is designed as a single-player solitaire style challenge.
Farming Simulator 2012 – ($2.99)
The latest annual update to this most agricultural of on-going simulation series has arrived. We can only hope that, like Farming Simulator 2011, this release will inspire more incredible dubstep:
Mr. Dreamer – ($0.99)
The App Store's also now home to a new infinite platformer, Mr. Dreamer, which has you tapping the screen to keep your auto-running, daydreaming hero dashing along looping lines and avoiding obstacles (to keep himself from being knocked back into the waking world.)
Sketchman – (Free)
The auto-running, flip-jumping and shot-firing action of living notepad doodle Sketchman is available for free right now.
Caverns of Minos – ($0.99)
Dropped down to less than a dollar from its original asking price of just under two, Caverns of Minos is a retro-style cave-exploring minotaur rescue adventure. Gotta save those minotaurs!
Train Conductor – (Free)
Like a railroad version of Flight Control, Train Conductor puts you in charge of keeping a crowded train station from becoming the site of a massive locomotive pile-up. You can try it out for free right now.
Worms 2: Armageddon – ($0.99)
Down to just 20% of its debut price, Worms 2: Armageddon can now be yours for just 99 cents. It didn't earn the most glowing of reviews from us back in 2010, but key upgrades have been added since then – like the addition of asynchronous multiplayer.
Spy vs. Spy – ($0.99)
And last of all today is Spy vs. Spy, which we first brought to your attention just last week. Nostalgia for this old-school classic has fueled fast success in sales, as it quickly claimed the #1 position in the App Store – and so, in celebration, its sale price of 99 cents has been extended. Give it another look if you haven't grabbed it already.
And that's all for today! If you haven't already, remember to subscribe to the App Store Update via email for extra convenience:
