App Store Update: August 20

Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.

Game Debuts

Disney Fish Hooks – (Free)

Disney's latest free app to download is Fish Hooks, an "underwater physics-based adventure puzzle" based on a Disney Channel animated series. It looks like it will be get along swimmingly right alongside the rest of the company's lighthearted, oddball apps like Where's My Water? Have a look at Disney's official trailer for the game:

And then, since that trailer was ridiculous and didn't actually show the game itself, here's an extra image for you:

Price Drops

Lightopus – ($0.99)

After a price increase earlier this summer, Bulkypix's adventure starring a bioluminescent octopus is now back down to 99 cents.

Axon Runners – (Free)

Quite possibly the best branded game since Cool Spot, Axon Runners is a Coca-Cola-aligned 3D hoverboard action game, and it's now available to own for free.

Art of Pinball: The Mummy – (Free)

Also free today is developer ASK Homework's newest virtual pinball release, The Mummy.

Let's Guess – (Free)

We'll keep the freebies rolling with Let's Guess, a newly-launched casual game that has you type out simple clues for your friends and asks them to guess the thing you're describing with just one word.

Steel Runner – (Free)

Magic Cube Games' running, jumping and blasting-everything-out-of-the-sky design Steel Runner is available for free right now, for anyone needing an action fix.

Bravo Force: Last Stand – (Free)

And why not make your action fix a double? Neon Play's first-person shooter that lets you experience your own Black Hawk Down moment is also free to download today.

And that's all for today! If you haven't already, remember to subscribe to the App Store Update via email for extra convenience:
