Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.
Wizorb – ($2.99)
Already an indie hit on Xbox Live Arcade and PC, Tribute Games' magical Wizorb has now made the transition to Apple's platforms. The game is a hybrid design merging the brick-breaking gameplay of classics like Arkanoid with RPG elements and boasts character animation from sprite-crafting legend Paul Robertson.
Running Dead – ($0.99)
You've heard of The Walking Dead, but the App Store's latest zombie shooter is full of undead targets who are picking up the pace.
8-Bit Zombie – ($0.99)
Actually, let's make that two new zombie games today. 8-Bit Zombie is also a shooter, but adopts a 2D perspective and old-school art.
Slice & Splice – ($0.99)
And the honor of our last new game highlight for the week goes to the intriguing puzzler Slice & Splice, a 144-level challenge to cut apart geometric shapes and reassemble them into different configurations.
Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition – ($0.99)
You might remember this classic action/adventure game by its other title, "Out of This World," from when it launched 20 years ago. Well, 21 years ago now – it's aged another year since its 20th anniversary, so its 2011 re-release has now been discounted down to 99 cents from its original five dollar level. Check it out before its turns 22!
Jelly Defense – ($0.99)
After spending the better part of this year hanging out at the three dollar level, the whimsical Jelly Defense has dropped back down to less than a buck once again.
Glowfish HD – ($0.99)
Developer MumboJumbo's luminous "underwater platformer" has also drifted down below the one dollar mark – you've got to have an iPad to get this one, though.
Ticket to Ride – ($6.99)
Days of Wonder's unstoppable train-building board game just keeps on rolling, as now you can purchase the new Legendary Asia expansion pack as an IAP for $3.99.
