When last we saw Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) on NBC's Community, he was attempting to contact his long lost father on Dan Harmon's last episode as showrunner, the Season 3 finale. But even though Harmon is gone, having been canned by Sony, Season 4 will still continue on with this story thread and Jeff will finally meet up with his dad!

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner James Brolin (Westworld, Marcus Welby, M.D.) will play William Winger, the estranged father of Jeff, whom Jeff has not seen since he was a child. The episode, titled "Cooperative Escapism in Familial Relations,” is scheduled to air later this season.

McHale tweeted out a picture of himself with Brolin on the set earlier today.
Community’s fourth season will premiere on Friday, October 19 (8:30-9 pm ET).
