If you turn on your PlayStation Vita, you will be promped to update it with the newest available firmware.
Update 1.81 doesn’t seem to do anything special – indeed, Sony has barely said anything about it other than releasing a Tweet -- but you may want to download it now and get it out of the way. That way, when you want to play something on it in the coming days and weeks, your experience won’t be interrupted with a forced firmware download.
