Rockstar and Sony were set to release Grand Theft Auto III on PlayStation Network back in July. But the day the PS2 Classic version of GTA3 was set to come to the PSN in North America, it was unceremoniously delayed for reasons unknown.
While we still don’t quite know what happened to delay GTA3’s release at the last minute, we know now that Grand Theft Auto III is scheduled once again to be released on the PlayStation Network as a PS2 Classic. Its price is unknown, although chances are it will cost the same price as every other PS2 Classic: $9.99. Its release timing in other territories is also unknown.
Grand Theft Auto III originally came to PlayStation 2 in the fall of 2001. Widely considered one of the most influential games ever released, GTA3 was one of PS2's best-selling games.
