Ready? Set? News!

eShop Madness!

Remember how awesome Pushmo was? Of course you do. As the crowning jewel of Nintendo's 3DS eShop, Pushmo delighted us all with it's cute style and incredible, puzzle-rific gameplay. Now it's getting a sequel called Crashmo, with "new gravity mechanics like floating blocks, doors and switches." November 22 can't come soon enough.

Crashmo aside, Nintendo also announced release dates for a handful of other downloadable titles coming to an eShop near you. NightSky arrives on October 25, and Fluidity: Spin Cycle launches December 27. Three games from Level-5 are also on the way this holiday season - Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter, and Crimson Shroud.

What's more, we've got a whole batch of new Virtual Console games coming our way as well. Look forward to downloading Mario Golf (October 11), Castlevania: The Adventure (October 25), Ninja Gaiden (November 8), Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (November 22), Wario Land II (December 20), and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (December 27).

A slew of cool demos are also headed to eShop in the near future, including Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (check out our preview here), Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! (check out this preview too), LEGO Lord of the Rings, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Download These 3DS Retail Games!

You can already download full retail games like New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone via the 3DS eShop, but starting October 18 you'll also be able to download Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7 and Star Fox 64 3D. Other 3DS games that have already hit retail are expected to be made available sometime soon, and you can expect Nintendo to continue its new day and date approach with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (October 28) and Paper Mario: Sticker Star (November 11).

Oh, and speaking of downloadable retail games, if you drop the cash to buy Art Academy, Professor Layton or Paper Mario, you'll get a download code for Donkey Kong: Original Edition. It's a special, expanded version of the NES classic, and as of now there are no plans to make this available for purchase. If you do download one of these games though, make sure to link your 3DS system with Club Nintendo account first. You can do this in the eShop, under Settings.

Animal Crossing Details Galore!

Japan was treated to a surprise Nintendo Direct broadcast today, one that focused on the forthcoming Animal Crossing game for 3DS for a full 47 minutes. Wow. Way to ignore stateside Nook fans, Nintendo. But thanks to that awesome contraption called the internet (we're big fans of that thing here at IGN), we, too, were able to get an early look at this new game.

A ton of new details were dropped, including the fact that KK Slider has gone the DJ route. In addition to his acoustic tunes, KK will also be jamming out with remixed NES themes in the game's new club area. There's even a light show! Kicks the skunk from City Folk also now has his own shoe shop, there's a comedy club where you can choose your reactions to the various jokes, and you'll also be able to build and customize your roads, as well as customize the interior and exterior of your house like never before.

What's more, there's also a new Dream Mode function that will allow you to visit your friends' towns, and a Tropical Island where you can play a variety of mini-games with your buddies. Now all we need is a darn release date for this thing. Make it so, Nintendo!

Mario DLC?!

Nintendo made Mushroom Kingdom history this week with the release of Mario's first DLC. Three new Coin Rush packs of varying difficulty are now available for purchase from within the game (just click Coin Rush mode, then the Store icon). They go for $2.50 each, so take a look at our quick guide for a sense of whether these new course are worth dropping the cash on.

Pretty, Pretty 3DS XL's!

It looks like everyone outside the United States is getting some form of fancy, new 3DS XL. Color us jealous. To start, Japan is getting a white Animal Crossing and a red Mario 3DS XL. European gamers, on the other hand, can look forward to the release of a yellow, Pikachu-themed XL, as well as and a plain, white one. The white one comes pre-loaded with Mario Kart 7, which makes little sense, but is admittedly pretty cool.

Pokémon Extravaganza!

Last but not least, this week also brought with it a whole bunch of cool Pokémon happenings. First up, I was finally able to share with you folks my full review of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Turns out the game is amazing.

Starting Sunday, when Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 hit store shelves, be sure to catch Genesect. This legendary bug is being made available for the first time via a special Pokémon distribution to coincide with Black 2/White 2's release. No need to seek out a GameStop either - all you have to do is go into the game's menu and select "Mystery Gift," then proceed from there.

We also rolled out the latest Pokémon Profile, this time all about Ditto... who may be a failed Mew clone?!

Finally, IGN now has it's very own Pokédex, so take some time to check it out, and let us know how we can improve it. We want it to be the very best, after all!
