Insurrection Comic to Hit the Silver Screen

Paramount is now closing a deal for the rights to Insurrection, the Boom! Studios comic book from Blake Masters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael De Luca and Matt Tolmach are set to produce the feature adaptation, with Boom!'s Ross Richie also producing.

Described as a sci-fi Spartacus, Insurrection takes place in a grim future where corporations are more powerful than governments and command their own armies comprised of clones, who are considered a lowly sub-class. However, that all changes when one man steps up to lead a revolution.

This is the second sci-fi project this week that Paramount is in negotiations to pick up; the studio is also in the process of acquiring Our Name is Adam, which has Tom Cruise in talks to star.
