Agent Coulson Lives at Hot Toys

Earth's Mightiest Heroes managed to save the planet from Loki and the Chitauri in their first big cinematic team-up. Unfortunately, not every Marvel hero made it through the fight. Agent Coulson perished in battle with Loki. But things are looking up for this fan-favorite, Captain America-obsessed S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Not only is actor Clark Gregg reprising the role in the highly anticipated S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, but the talented designers at Hot Toys have turned their attention to Coulson.

Coulson is the latest in the ever-growing lineup of Marvel figures at Hot Toys. As with the rest of the Movie Masterpiece Series figures, Coulson is designed at 1:6 scale and measures around 12 inches tall. The head sculpt (sculpted by Lee So Young and painted by J.C. Hong) is modeled after Gregg in exacting detail. You'd be forgiven for mistaking some of these images for the real thing.

Coulson has the usual movie-authentic slate of accessories. Included in the set are five interchangeable hands, a pistol, the Destroyer Rifle, a set of scale-model Captain America trading cards, and various S.H.I.E.L.D. accoutrements like an ID badge, sunglasses, and file folder.

The figure is priced at $174.99 and is currently slated for release in Q2 2013.

Scroll down for a glimpse of the various other figures announced for the Avengers line. Will we see characters like Maria Hill or the Chitauri before Hot Toys turn their attention to the 2013 Marvel movies?
