Blizzard Registers ‘Project Blackstone’ Website

Blizzard has registered ProjectBlackstone.com. The site was picked up on November 26th according to WHOIS data, but exactly what Project Blackstone might be referring to is unclear.

Blizzard hasn’t said much about its upcoming projects, but we do know it’s currently planning an expansion to Diablo III. If the domain is Diablo-related, it could be referring to the Black Soulstone, an item players attempt to acquire thoughout Diablo III in order to defeat Diablo.

One other possibility is that the domain is related to Blizzard’s Titan MMO, which we last heard has more than 100 developers. There’s no clear evidence linking the two, however, so Project Blackstone could just as easily be something related to Blizzard’s other properties, or even something entirely new.

We’ve reached out to Blizzard about the website and will update this story with any comment we receive.
