Stone Roses Movie Nearly Complete

Director Shane Meadows has posted an update on his eagerly anticipated documentary about recently reformed British band The Stone Roses.

Writing on his own messageboard, Meadows revealed that the film should be finished early next year, and that he’s “very happy with how things are going.”

“It’s in really good shape now. Maybe three-four weeks from locking the edit. Might even get to do some Xmas shopping this year.”

As for a release, Meadows explained: “I think the aim will be to launch at a big festival April/May next year, have a mahoosive (sic) UK premiere, then get it into cinemas soon after.”

The critically acclaimed band reformed to play a series of gigs across Europe this summer, with the Roses heading out around the globe in 2013.

Chris Tilly is the Entertainment Editor for IGN in the UK and really, really hopes the Roses play Glastonbury next summer. He can be found in The Winchester, or on both Twitter and MyIGN.
