Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.
You Don’t Know Jack – (Freemium)
The trivia craze from yesteryear returns with an all-new app edition, once again prepared to quiz your brain and make fart noises at you.
Knights & Dragons: Rise of the Dark Prince – (Freemium)
GREE’s latest free-to-play RPG sends you back to the Dark Ages. (Or at least a bright, cartoony version of them.)
Battle of the Bulge – ($9.99)
A brilliantly detailed tactical wargame, Battle of the Bulge feels like it’s a conversion of a popular tabletop title – but it was designed specifically for the iPad.
Skee-Ball 2 – ($0.99)
Nothing makes me want to visit Chuck E. Cheese as an adult more than the allure of skee-ball. Perhaps, with this app, I can keep myself away and stop freaking out those five-year-olds having birthday parties.
AR Defender 2 – (Free)
Augmented reality meets tower defense in Bulkypix’s newest sequel. Give it a look:
Rat on a Jet Ski – ($0.99)
He’s ridden snowboards, scooters, motorcycles and who knows what other different modes of transportation. Now, the Rat is hitting the waves.
Scribble Hero – ($0.99)
Monster sketches drawn in a notebook have come to life and kidnapped your girlfriend! Are you man enough to save her from the evil Doodles?
Mutant Fridge Mayhem: Gumball – ($0.99)
The characters of Cartoon Network’s Gumball series need your help to beat the snot out of a bunch of evil food monsters. Hi-ya!
Revertis 2 – ($1.99)
A tricky puzzle challenge to turn off groups of lights, Revertis 2 is only for those who enjoy giving their minds a mental workout.
Royal Envoy 2 – ($6.99)
This new strategy sequel that casts you as a king’s messenger is free to try, then $6.99 for the full game unlock if you’re having a good time.
Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer – (Free)
Ranking #3 in our list of the Top 10 iPad Board Games, Ascension is an absolute joy of a deck-builder designed by three Magic: The Gathering pros. We’re shocked that it’s gone free! Grab it immediately!
Yesterday – ($2.99)
Point-and-click adventure gaming fans, this one’s for you. Three bucks buys you hours of exploration and a great story.
Bloons TD 5 HD – ($2.99)
It’s the first-ever sale for this recently-released newest installment in the balloon-popping tower defense series, so take advantage if you’re a fan of the franchise.
Super Hexagon – ($0.99)
How long can you survive? 10, 15, 20 seconds? Challenge yourself to one of the App Store’s most intensely difficult designs, now under a dollar.
Mega Man X – ($0.99)
The 25th anniversary of the Blue Bomber is upon us, and that means App Store savings from Capcom once again.
Air Hockey – (Free)
Here’s a handy staple to have loaded on your device – a simple, free version of air hockey.
Mini Motor Racing – (Free)
Big racing fun with teeny, tiny cars. Yours for free.
Cut the Rope: Experiments HD – ($0.99)
One of the App Store’s best, under a buck. Buy it!
Eufloria HD – ($2.99)
Finally, an experimental, ambient RTS for your consideration.
A huge sale is going on now for the entire product range from Rovio for iPads – every single one of their titles can be had for just 99 cents right now. That’s a massive savings altogether, so consider investing in the full range of Angry Birds titles, along with Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies:
Fruit Ninja HD – ($2.99)
New blades and backgrounds continue to be added to Halfbrick’s citrus-slashing hit. This latest update brings you the Sakura Slicer sword, among others.
Temple Run: Brave – ($0.99)
Finally, a new playable character has been added to Temple Run: Brave. It’s King Fergus! Run, Fergus, run!
That’s it for this week! If you haven't already, subscribe to the App Store Update via email. For convenience!
