Actress Chloe Bennet has joined the cast of Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot for ABC, THR reports.
Bennet’s most notable credit to date is on the network’s country music-themed nighttime soap Nashville, where she plays Hailey, a record company assistant.
On S.H.I.E.L.D. she will play Skye, a woman “obsessed with superhero culture and the shadow organizations that exist within it.” Her character is reportedly “edgy,” “confident” and “unflappable.”
The actress is the sixth and, as THR reports, final regular to join the cast which includes: Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, The Avengers' Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Killing Lincoln's Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons and Ian De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz.
