Leisure Suit Larry Publisher Reveals Fester Mudd

Leisure Suit Larry publisher Replay Games has revealed Fester Mudd: The Curse of the Gold, a new adventure game coming in January. According to Replay, the game is “a throwback to the old school adventure games that dominated gaming in the '80s and '90s” and is being developed by Finnish developer Prank Entertainment. Fester Mudd features “a western theme and strong comedic elements.”

Meanwhile, Replay has also announced that Josh Mandel has been named chief creative officer. Mandel previously served as director of game design at SEGA of America and director of the Sierra Online product design department. He’s also designed, written or produced more than 40 games for Broderbund, Microsoft, Legend, Sierra, Vicarious Visions, SEGA, Midway, and Hasbro.

“This is a priceless opportunity for me both personally and professionally,” Mandel said. On a personal level, it allows me to be creative with people I’ve come to know and love over the course of the past 25 years. On a professional level, it puts me in a place where I can create the kinds of humorous, literate games that engendered the original market for computer games, and bring them to a whole new generation of gamers.”

Fester Mudd is currently planned for iOS, Android, Mac and PC. The game is currently listed on Steam Greenlight.
