New PlayStation Vita Firmware Now Live

A friendly warning to PlayStation Vita owners: Firmware Update 2.01 is now available, and you should go ahead and download it now to get it out of the way.

Sony announced the firmware just a few hours ago, noting that it “will fix the issues with automatic synching of PS Plus game saves,” and as a result, it seems to be a mandatory download (I was prompted to download it when I attempted to sync my Trophies). It’s likely mandatory whether or not you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

It’s a tiny update -- easily downloaded over wi-fi -- and should only interrupt your gaming session for a few minutes. So get it over with now!
