PlayStation All-Stars: The First DLC Report

Last night, the IGN PlayStation Team headed to Santa Monica to kick the tires on the first batch of downloadable content for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. If you've missed the news, three pieces of DLC will arrive in "early 2013," and they'll be free for the first two weeks of their lives.

Behold the new stage.

What's coming? Well...

  • NEW FIGHTER: Kat from Gravity Rush
  • NEW FIGHTER: Emmett Graves from Starhawk
  • NEW STAGE: A Heavenly Sword/WipEout mash-up

Kat and Emmett Impressions

The video's the real bread and butter, but the short version is that Kat's super-accessible to anyone picking up the sticks, and Emmett's going to take some time to master. Whereas Kat can just wail on foes, slide along the ground, and even hurl objects from her gravity field, Emmett is all about finesse. To be good with Graves, you need to know what items you're calling from the sky, what weapons to fire from a distance, and so on.

The Game Director's Take on Kat and Emmett

Our time with Kat and Emmett was truly limited, so why not listen PlayStation All-Stars director Omar Kendall give you the full 411 on just what makes these two characters special?
