Guillermo Del Toro has confirmed that the voice of the disembodied Artificial Intelligence in the trailer for his latest movie, Pacific Rim, is indeed that of GLaDOS voice actress Ellen McLain.
According to Forbes, McLain's voice will be put through almost the exact same alteration process, meaning for all intents and purposes the AI voice we've heard is GLaDOS.
What's less clear though is whether the character in the movie is GLaDOS. Del Toro has been tight-lipped on that front, though it seems fairly unlikely. Homage is one thing and, given the tongue-in-cheek concept of the movie, it's probable that this is just Del Toro paying tribute to a series he's openly praised in the past.
