Watch the Trailer for Upstream Color

Director Shane Carruth made his mark with the inscrutable sci-fi indie Primer back in 2004. He hasn't directed a feature since, but last week it was revealed that Carruth's long-awaited next film, Upstream Color, will debut at Sundance in January. That announcement led to much joy (and anticipation) for genre fans and cinephiles alike, and now a trailer for the film has hit as well.

Unsurprisingly, the preview is pretty puzzling, if certainly intriguing. Check it out below or go to Apple for the high-rez version:

Here's the synopsis of the film:

"A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives."
