3 LEGO Chima Games Announced

Warner Bros. has announced that three new LEGO games based on its brand-new Chima range of toys will be released in 2013.

LEGO Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey will be developed by solely TT Games, and will be released for the PS Vita in summer 2013 and for Nintendo 3DS sometime in the autumn 2013. It is said that players "will embark on an amazing adventure into the world of Chima™ where the brave warrior Laval and his allies are called upon to fight for justice."

The next game being released is LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz, which is playable today on LEGO.com and will be coming out for iOS devices tomorrow, January 3. The  racing mini-game has been co-produced by TT Games and 4T2. Players will be able to race as their favourite Chima characters and drive through iconic locations from the fictional world. Expect tonnes of unlockables and various ways to customise your character.

The third and final game is a free-to-play, online world that's being developed by WB Games Montreal called LEGO Legends of Chima Online. Scheduled for a release in the autumn of 2013, it will provide a "safe and immersive connected game experience", with the ability to build and customise their kingdom in Chima, as well as explore different environments. Furthermore, players will be able to earn points in the first two games – Laval's Journey and Speedorz – which they'll be able to redeem and enhance their experience in LEGO Legends of Chima Online.

If you've never heard of Legends of Chima, don't worry. It's a new range of toys set in the mythical land of Chima inhabited by magical animal tribes, including Lion, Eagle, Gorilla and Crocodile.

Would you like to see more LEGO games take their cues directly from the toys (City? Monster Fighters? Dino?) or continue to adapted big Hollywood properties?
