Defiance, an open-world shooter from Trion and SyFy, will have a brief beta event later this month exclusively for PC players.
Starting on January 18th at 8:00AM PT, players can take part in the "Advanced Mission Beta 1" and wage war in a futuristic, ruined San Francisco as an ark hunter. These ark hunters blend the thrill of treasure hunting with the rabid gunplay of mercenary work. They are "fearless and lethal, dedicated in their mission to recover valuable alien technology."
Players interested in signing up for the beta can do so at the Von Bach Industries website, which features a live-action trailer detailing the fiction behind Defiance's world.
The beta will run through January 20th at 9:00PM PT, with a full retail launch scheduled for April 2013.
