The DC/Vertigo comic Y: The Last Man has found a director in Dan Trachtenberg, a commercials helmer who made a splash with his Portal: No Escape short film back in 2011.

Reports indicate that New Line is ready to move on the project, which has been gestating for years. Back in September, we heard that the film had become a priority at New Line, where execs were said to be very happy with the script by Jericho writers Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia. Y is about Yorick Brown, the last man on an Earth now occupied only by women.
