HTC One Revealed: 4.7" 1080p Display, Aluminum Casing

The HTC One is the Taiwanese smartphone maker's answer to the iPhone 5, and perhaps the company's worst kept secret. As previously rumored and revealed in leaked images, the device made its debut today at a press event in New York City, sporting a thin, minimalist design and a large 4.7-inch edge-to-edge 1080p display. It features aluminum casing with a rounded back and distinctive front-facing stereo speakers powered by Beats Audio.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 series processor from Qualcomm. In terms of optics, the HTC One comes equipped with a 8-megapixel 'UltraPixel' rear-facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The One will also ship with HTC Zoe, which captures several seconds a video with every photo you take. The video is recorded in the background seamlessly.

Naturally, it'll come loaded with HTC's latest UI layer, Sense 5, but will be based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. It even comes equipped with an IR sensor, allowing users to control their TV with just their phone. For storage, the HTC One will come in 32GB and 64GB variations, though pricing is still forthcoming.

The HTC One is expected to ship in March in the U.S. on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
