Alex Garland to Direct Sci-Fi Flick Ex Machina

Alex Garland – the screenwriter responsible for 28 Days Later and Dredd 3D – is set to make his directorial debut with a sci-fi thriller entitled Ex Machina.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, story revoles around “a billionaire programmer whio handpicks a young employee to spend a week at his remote estate to participate in a test involving his latest invention: an artificially intelligent robot.”

Garland has also written the script, and will produce alongside Scott Rudin and Eli Bush.

Ex Machina is set to shoot later this year with the budget thought to be around the $15m mark. And if you happened to miss Dredd - which far too many people did, it would seem - check out our video review below...
