Disney Infinity Delayed

Disney Infinity has been delayed by a month, meaning the game will now be available in North America from August 18 and in Europe from August 20.

The news comes courtesy of The New York Times, which reports that Disney made the decision due to the later date being "more favorable".

Disney Interactive co-president John Pleasants explained, "We could deliver in June if we wanted to. Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops."

The game was originally planned to release in June to tie into Monsters University hitting screens. The fact that it's been pushed back means it may now go head to head with the release of the next iteration of Skylanders, Swap Force, which is due out in the tail end of the year.

Disney Infinity is planned for release on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, Wii and 3DS.

Luke Karmali is IGN's UK Editorial Assistant and is worried for his wallet with Disney Infinity coming. You too can revel in mediocrity by following him on IGN and on Twitter.
