Goosebumps is coming to the big screen, with Monsters vs. Aliens director Rob Letterman in talks with Sony Pictures to helm the film.
Based on the popular series of children's horror books by R. L. Stine, the Goosebumps movie has been in the works since 2008. The most recent draft of the script was by Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Slayer). Letterman has also helmed Shark Tale and the live-action Jack Black picture Gulliver's Travels.
So you figure this has gotta be live-action, right? With plenty of ghoulishly fun CGI? The potential is certainly there to make the kind of movie I used to love growing up -- a Gremlins or Monster Squad type thing. Let's hope!
