Thor: The Dark World will be debuting its first trailer online tomorrow, but in the meantime you can check out a couple of new photos featuring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman:
Speaking to USA Today (who also provided the photos), Marvel producer Kevin Feige explained that in the film Portman's Jane Foster is brought to Asgard for safety. "So while Thor was a fish out of water on Earth in the first two films [Thor and The Avengers], this time Jane is very much a fish out of water in Asgard... It's superhero action, but it’s the familiar territory of a love triangle where the parents think your girlfriend is wrong for you. That's how the best of these movies work."
Hemsworth added that Jane's absence from the events of The Avengers will result in a bit of trouble for his character. "Thor still has lot of explaining to do, and a lot of making up," he said. "Even demigods end up in the doghouse, mate. So none of us is safe."
The actor also notes that Thor will be calling on his brother Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) to aid him in The Dark World. "Needing Loki's help turns everything on its head, and it allows us to explore the underlying complexities of their relationship. It really ends up being a kind of chess match."
Thor: The Dark World storms into theaters on November 8.
