Rayman Legends Release Date Announced

Ubisoft has announced that Rayman Legends will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U from August 30.

The game was previously given a launch window of September, though happily it seems that the game may be ready slightly sooner.

In addition, the free online challenge app for the title that was promised to Wii U owners to apologise for the game's repeated delays is available now.

Rayman Legends was originally meant to be a Wii U launch title, but managed to evoke the ire of fans when it was repeatedly pushed back again and again, with it eventually being announced that the game would no longer be a Nintendo exclusive, and wouldn't be released until September 2013.

This in turn led to the game's creator Michel Ancel joining co-workers in a protest about the decision, requesting that the Wii U version be released in February as was originally planned, seeing as work on it was essentially complete. Thankfully, we heard last month that the delay hasn't been in vain; 30 new levels have been added to the title as a result of the situation.

So there you have it Rayman fans; you finally know when your agonising wait will be over...assuming the title isn't delayed again, of course.
