Samsung Galaxy S4 Gets Torn Apart by iFixit

The tinkerers at iFixit have taken apart the Galaxy S4, exposing the innards of Samsung's latest flagship smartphone. If unfamiliar, the team opens up devices to see how easy they are to fix, and new and potential Galaxy S4 owners will be happy to know that their new phone ranks highly in terms of overall repairability.

When and How to Get the Samsung Galaxy S4

Unlike the Apple iPad mini and Microsoft's Surface Pro, the Galaxy S4 proved simple to open up, with only a few tools required for the process. The smartphone was awarded with a repairability score of 8 (out of 10), thanks to its removable battery, easily accessible internal components, and the fact the entire device includes only 11 screws, all of which can be taken out with a standard Phillips screwdriver. In comparison, the HTC One — while an amazing Android smartphone — received a repairability score of 1.

It's important to keep in mind that digging into smartphones and tablets should only be done by experts and professionals, but it's good to know that those with the skills should have no problem fixing Samsung's Galaxy S4.
