Update: NBC have now released all six of the Hannibal webisodes. Original story follows, along with all six webisodes.
Hannibal’s fourth episode is being pulled, due to sensitivity over the content in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings. To have an episode pulled so early is obviously not ideal, especially as we’re just beginning to see how these characters interact. For that reason, NBC and Hannibal executive producer Bryan Fuller (who made the suggestion to NBC to not air the episode in its entirety) are doing something unique.
While the “case of the week” aspect -- which was the reason for it not being aired --will not be included, NBC are debuting four webisodes that consist of the character storylines from the unaired episode. Most notably, we’ll see more of Hannibal’s relationship with Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl), which went in a new direction at the conclusion of episode 3.
Abigail is actually not in the first of these webisodes, which debuted via TVLine. In the first installment, introduced by Fuller, we see another Hannibal/Will Graham session, followed by Hannibal making an unscheduled visit to Will’s home…
Hannibal will air a new episode (originally intended for its fifth week) this Thursday at 10pm on NBC.
