Arrested Development is Back! Here's How We're Covering It...

As you should be well aware by now, Arrested Development is returning this Sunday with 15 brand-new episodes released simultaneously by Netflix. While this is very exciting news for all of AD fans, Netflix’s “all at once” release strategy has made things a bit of a challenge as far as coverage goes. Our normal pattern at IGN is weekly episode reviews, but with Netflix’s recent House of Cards and Hemlock Grove, we simply did a full season review a few days after the show launched. But this is Arrested Development! We want to go more in-depth than that, having waited seven years for these new Bluth adventures.

So how are we going to cover it? Daily episode reviews. I’ll be reviewing the first new episode, “Flight of the Phoenix,” on Sunday, the day it debuts, along with the rest of Season 4. Then – accounting for the holiday weekend – the second episode review will go up on Tuesday. After that, look for a new episode review every weekday until all 15 are reviewed.

In addition, we’ll be doing an editors chat in the next week, once a few of us (and, I’m guessing, plenty of you) have seen all 15 episodes, to discuss what we thought of it all. And finally, when my daily episode reviews are finished, look for an entire season review as well. Whew!

IGN Talks to the Arrested Development cast about Season 4:

Look, there’s always money in he banana stand, but there’s not always new Arrested Development episodes. We want to savor thing!
