E3 2013: How Did Viewers Feel About Nintendo Direct?

This morning, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct in lieu of the major press conference it traditionally has at E3, an unexpected decision which many of us voiced our opinions on. Now that it's passed, we wanted to see what you thought about the presentation Nintendo had in store for us this year, as well as the information we discovered afterwards:

Oldies but Goodies

@ign all I ever wanted from Nintendo are Nintendo games and that's what they gave me so I'm happy, the 3rd party games were a nice bonus

— Stabby (@GoStabby) June 11, 2013

@ign It had Smash Brothers in it...enough said right there lol

— Scott Gordon (@GapWireScott) June 11, 2013

@ign I think Nintendo has, ironically, taken a big risk with playing it safe. That said, I can't wait to play these games.

— Steven Dulock (@StevenDulock) June 11, 2013

@ign Predictable, no big surprises. That doesn't mean what they showed was bad. On contraire, really looking forward to their titles!

— Arturo MoncadaTorres (@amt_015) June 11, 2013

@ign Loved the games, its always nice to see Mario, but I was expecting more third-party content.

— Adrien Brody (@afghanambition) June 11, 2013

@ign. Loved it. Not as shocking as I thought it would be but lots of GREAT games coming. Glad I own a #WiiU.

— Daniel Fugate (@df2506) June 11, 2013

@ign Classic Nintendo, with some good first-party games but lacking a little third party support atm. #IGNquiry #E32013

— ★Paul (@pkimpham) June 11, 2013

@ign could have more "Surprises"..I found my self expecting most of it, but regardless what was shown was awesome

— exvarkin (@exvarkin) June 11, 2013

Just Old

@ign #E32013You guys hit it on the head during the Post Show. No wow factor.I hope E3 2014 turns out better for Nintendoh.

— Jeff W.B. (@theeVoxP) June 11, 2013

@ign They played it too safe. Meh. #E32013

— Cameron Fraser (@ckfraser) June 11, 2013

@ign #IGNquiry It was ok. What Nintendo showed us were things we already knew and then some. Not many "WOW" factors to encourage Wii U sales

— Jay Paraz (@jparaz) June 11, 2013

@ign Good, but disappointing. Never thought Mario Kart would be more innovative than a 3D Mario game... #E3

— Dave C. (@Racer_Dave_32) June 11, 2013

Where’s Zelda/Metroid?

@ign Iffy. Where us my new Metroid or Zelda?!

— Eddie Nigma (@MXAGhost) June 11, 2013

@ign Severely lacking in Metroid

— Jordan Marshall (@CygnusxSecrets) June 11, 2013

@ign I think it was solid but not amazing. Honestly, we were a Metroid or new Zelda away from being excellent.

— Samuel E. Marrero (@senatormarrero) June 11, 2013

@ign Honestly, if there's a price drop, I'll def pick one up...I was a lil peeved they didn't have a WiiU Zelda game yet...#IGNquiry #E32013

— J. M. Sanborn (@SBLocal_Josh) June 11, 2013

@ign absolutely loved the Smash Bros. reveal but I'm dying to see the next Legend of Zelda for Wii U

— Finn the Human (@BrettWilliam7) June 11, 2013

Get N or Get Out

@ign After seeing the new Donkey Kong Country, I cried tears of joy for the first time in my life. They've won me over.

— Daniel (@DCXHQ) June 11, 2013

@ign They just gained a new customer. They showed me Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, SSB, and Wonderful 101..

— ghostdini85 (@ghostdini85) June 11, 2013

@ign I miss the crowd reaction when something like the smash logo appears. As a fan of Nintendo I couldn't be more excited about the games!

— Wesley (@wmcelwee) June 11, 2013

@ign I have a Wii U so any new games is a good thing!

— Ethan (@LFC_Ethan) June 11, 2013

@ign #E32013 As a Wii U owner, I loved it. If I didn't own one, it could be hit or miss. Smash Bros was impossible to dislike though.

— Zorpix (@Zorpix_Fang) June 11, 2013

@ign Nintendo won E3. Cat mario > Xbox one = PS4 < Pc .

— SiRWeeGeeX (@WeeGeeX1798) June 11, 2013

Let's-a Go...

@ign would have been great if the stream wasn't so trashed, good games announced, but will still have trouble competing with the Big Two

— Darrell McClarin (@BigDarrell63) June 11, 2013

@ign nothing really wowed me. Typical Nintendo, honestly.

— Aaron Bearden (@Aaron_Bear_Den) June 11, 2013

@ign Underwhelming, but hey, we got out first look at Smash so I guess there's that. #E32013

— Kerwin (@CaiusTSR) June 11, 2013

@ign mixed feelings, I miss the gold era of Nintendo, I am so sorry they decided to go in another direction with their consoles.

— Alvaro Mena (@AlvaroEMena) June 11, 2013

Mega Man! Mega Man!

@ign Although disappointed that Retro is making a sequel (but it'll be great regardless), and not an open world Mario, Megaman in Smash won!

— Jimmy Stuart(@HowWeStuIt) June 11, 2013

@ign Great! :D I was very surprised with how awesome Smash Bros. was and Mega Man blew me away!

— Jordan Zoucha(@mario9j) June 11, 2013

@ign It was sloppy. But loved seeing the new games! Especially Smash Bros. with MEGAMAN!

— Paige Campbell (@UnclePaige) June 11, 2013

Wii Fit Trainer

@ign What the hell... Nobody seen this one coming. LOL

— Matt Casper (@mcasper32) June 11, 2013

Seirously Nintendo, this is where we're at. #RIP RT @ign: Wii Fit Trainer Character Coming to Smash Bros. go.ign.com/13V2Jv8 #E32013

— J. Kris (@Jewdakris) June 11, 2013

@ignWhut? What is this... ...I don't even... #e32013#nintendodirect

— Fairy Princess (@AlvanPrincessa) June 11, 2013

@richign @ign Please say her Smash attack is whacking someone with a Balance Board.

— Brett A. Altmiller (@SuperPaperLuigi) June 11, 2013

@ign When will @nintendo realize nobody likes #WiiFit.
