HTC One Coming to Verizon this Summer

It's official: the HTC One is coming to Verizon. The news comes by way of the official Verizon Wireless Twitter account (via The Verge), which states that the Android handset will be sold through the fourth and final major US carrier starting later this summer. Unfortunately, details beyond that were not provided, but it's good to know that the best Android smartphone on the market will soon be available for most wireless subscribers in the nation.

In addition to details regarding price, at this point we don't know if the phone will be customized by Verizon in any way, but it does appear that the One will not sport the carrier's Droid branding. Don't be surprised if Verizon's apps come pre-loaded on the device though.

It is also unknown whether or not a Verizon-capable version of the recently announced HTC One with stock Android will be offered at some point in the future. The unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 with stock Android has only been announced for use with AT&T and T-Mobile, so it may be unlikely that a similarly-equipped HTC One will ever include support for Verizon.
