Nvidia Shield Price Dropped to $299, Launching June 27th

Nvidia's Shield handheld gaming unit has received a decrease in price and a solid release date. Previously set to cost $349, The Verge reports that the Android-powered device will now be available for $299 when it launches on June 27th. The lower price will be applied to pre-orders as well.

Check out our Nvidia Shield hands-on.

Powered by the company's Tegra 4 mobile processor, Shield utilizes a 5-inch 720p display and a full controller to deliver games from the Google Play store and Nvidia's TegraZone. The device is also capable of streaming games directly from a well-built PC.
