Save transfers may not be available from the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft to the newly announced Xbox One version, according to Microsoft's Phil Spencer.
Speaking to OXM, Spencer explained the game was a "new product on Xbox One", which would result in issues when it came to porting over saves.
"We're actually updating it in pretty significant ways for the new platform," he revealed. "Bigger worlds, which don't translate between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One."
Having said this, the team responsible for creating both Xbox versions, 4J Studios, has tweeted that talks are ongoing with Microsoft about making this happen.
@DanielBooth1998 It would be great to do this, and we are discussing it with Microsoft.

We currently don't know if Spencer spoke out of turn, or if 4J Studios is just hopeful it can get Microsoft to change its mind, but we've reached out to both companies for clarification and will update the story should we hear back.
