Staring today, Acer will start offering its Predator AG3-605 Series desktops in the U.S. market. The rigs are powered by Intel's Haswell Core i7 processors, with an emphasis on creating a competent gaming and multimedia-centric desktop with an accessible price. The black and orange towers start at $999 for an entry-level configuration.
“Our new Predator AG3-605 Series offers a range of models to suit various power and budget requirements for those needing a system for games and other multimedia pursuits,” said Acer America's Frank Chang.
The base model of the AG3-605 includes a 3.4GHz Core i7 processor, 12GB of DDR3 memory, a 2TB 7200RPM hard drive, and an Nvidia GT640 GPU. Acer will, of course, offer more premium components at a price upgrade, including up to 120GB SSD, Blu-ray drives, 32GB DDR3 RAM, and an Nvidia GTX660.
All AG3-605 setups feature four USB 2.0 and four USB 3.0 ports, in addition to an HDMI jack. The rigs offer Sound Blaster Cinema and EAX optimization, as well as on-board 5.1-channel surround sound.
The Acer Predator AG3-605 Series cases also feature a headset cradle, to keep those expensive cans secure when not in use. The desktops are available now from select retailers.
