Verizon Wireless announced today via Twitter that the HTC One will finally be available through the carrier starting August 22nd. HTC's latest flagship originally launched in April through AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, and we felt that it was a near-perfect Android device with its quality design and innovative software.
The HTC One features a beautiful 4.7-inch 1080p display, a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, front-facing stereo Boomsound speakers, and a rear-facing 4-megapixel camera that utilizes the company's Ultrapixel technology.
While the HTC One originally launched with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the Verizon model will have Android 4.2.2 pre-installed — something that One owners with the other US carriers have yet to enjoy. There is currently no word on if a Verizon-compatible HTC One with stock Android will be released.
The HTC One for Verizon Wireless will be available online and in-stores for $199.99 on-contract and will initially launch in silver only.
