In keeping with his trend of being in, well, a lot these days, The Hobbit and Sherlock's Martin Freeman has been tapped as the sad-sack lead in FX's TV adaptation of the Coen Brother's classic movie Fargo.
As reported by THR, Freeman will star as Lester Nygaard, a whiny, inept insurance salesman inspired by William H. Macy's character in the 1996 film. Freeman joins Fargo's only other officially announced cast member, Billy Bob Thornton, whose ruthless Lorne Malvo will set Nygaard on "a path of destruction."
Production on Fargo will begin in October for a US Spring 2014 premiere.
