Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 2 Premiere Date Announced by Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon announced today that Season 2 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will debut on Saturday, October 12, at 11am ET/PT. New episodes of the animated series will also continue to air regularly on Saturdays.

In addition to the original voice cast, Season 2 will introduce Josh Peck (Drake & Josh) as TMNT fan-favorite Casey Jones, a teenage hockey player with a rebellious attitude and a lust for cracking down on bad guys. In the first episode, "The Mutation Situation," the Turtles discover that the alien Kraang survived their showdown from last season and have now dropped mutagen canisters all over NYC.

Throughout the season, the Turtles' mission is to recover the canisters before more mutants can be created, all while they unravel the mystery surrounding April O'Neil and her importance to the Kraang.

In other Nick news, the network also announced that it has ordered 26 episodes of two new animated series, Bad Seeds and Pig Goat Banana Cricket.

Bad Seeds follows Harvey, a sweet and well-meaning bird, who makes two new best friends, Fee and Foo, the wildest kids in the forest. Meanwhile, Pig Goat Banana Cricket features a series of absurd interwoven stories about four friends/roommates, Pig (the fool), Goat (the artist), Banana (the wise-guy) and Cricket (the brain).
