ArenaNet not only just announced a Mac OS X version of Guild Wars 2, but that it's also available right now. If you bought the Windows version of the game at launch, that means you have access to the beta. The Mac beta connects to the same servers Windows players are on right now.
"Bringing Guild Wars 2 to the Mac is huge for us," said a post on the Guild Wars 2 site, "because it introduces the game to an entire group of players who are often ignored by game developers. The ability to play together with your friends is one of the underlying principles of Guild Wars 2, and providing a Mac client means that friends and guildmates can play together regardless of what operating system they favor."
If you've already purchased Guild Wars 2, you'll find a download link for the Mac client on your account page. You can find more information in ArenaNet's Mac FAQ, and the hardware requirements for the Mac beta below.
- Mac OS X 10.7.X or later
- Intel Core i5 or better
- 4 GB Ram or better
- NVIDIA GeForce 320M, ATI Radeon HD 6630M, Intel HD 3000 or better
- 25 GB available HDD space
- Broadband Internet Connection
