TPA went into this series as the underdogs. But soon they would show the world they are their regional kings for a reason. The game started with the usual dance around each of their jungles, placing wards, planning invades, hoping for a quick first blood and advantage. After taking wraiths, whether he caught a glimpse of the enemy team, or excellent intuition, Lilballz (Mundo) moved towards his blue buff, giving a waiting NaJin team the easy steal. Mundo would later steal Watch's (Skarner) red buff for an equalizer.

While the score seemed even, with a closer look, TPA were slightly winning their lanes with the exception of MakNooN (Irelia) against Stanley (Shen). For a while the two teams would trade kills via ganks and counter ganks. It seemed, however, that TPA was better at engaging or disengaging when appropriate and came out slightly ahead.

The key moment of this game came when TPA grouped to take the tier two mid tower. Baiting with MakNooN, the rest of NaJin Sword waited in the nearby jungle. However, TPA was completely ready for this team fight. Having vision, given by Mundo, waiting in a nearby bush, TPA initiated. A fed, Toyz started the fight by throwing all his initial burst damage at the waiting NaJin members in the jungle. After that, the presence of Mundo and Nunu's ultimate was able to zone the remaining members of NaJin, allowing MakNooN and PraY to be focused and killed quickly.

Immediately, TPA picked up an uncontested baron. After healing and buying items, TPA immediately moved to close out the game. With perfect execution, TPA swept aside NaJin Sword in a final team fight, forcing the surrender.

Game 2

TPA

Bans: Jayce, Evelynn, Orianna

Picks

  • Shen - Stanley (top)
  • Ezreal - Bebe (adc)
  • Skarner - Lilballz (jungle)
  • Blitzcrank - MisTakE (support)
  • Anivia - Toyz (mid)

NaJin

Bans: Vladimir, Kog'Maw, Karthus

Picks

  • Sona - Cain (support)
  • Maokai - Watch (jungle)
  • Corki - PraY (adc)
  • Morgana - SSONG (mid)
  • Jax - MakNooN (top)

In game two, it would be TPA, that would try for a delayed invasion at blue buff. With Blitzcrank (MisTake), TPA was able to attempt the steal at a safe distance, but could not complete the steal quick enough. With no mana, Watch (Maokai) was unable to defend blue and retreated with the rest of his team. Although the golem reset, NaJin's retreat allowed TPA to take blue uncontested.

After the late steal, TPA would apply a lane switch pitting Stanley (Shen) against NaJin's PraY(Corki) and Cain (Sona) while hoping to suppress MakNooN (Jax) with Bebe (Ezreal) and MisTakE (Blitzcrank). While this strategy worked for Bebe and MisTakE in top lane, Stanley was having more trouble than anticipated against early ganks from NaJin.

While kills were still being traded NaJin would win in a contest of early aggression. Despite NaJin's favorable score, TPA completely out farmed their NaJin counterparts (including Stanley). With help from gold-per-ten-second items, the gold score was completely even.

In the twenty second minute, these two teams clashed in the first full team fight. MisTakE initiated with a grab on MakNooN over the ledge just outside of the wraith camp. Despite the seemingly disadvantageous initiation, NaJin would turn this fight in their favor. Unfortunately for TPA, they could not take down MakNooN quickly enough. Burning too many skills on MakNooN, TPA were overwhelmed, giving up a three for free team fight.

With the scales seemingly tipped against them, TPA retaliated by winning the next scuffle almost immediately after respawning. Just before the fight, MakNooN, having not returned to heal, would be quickly killed by Stanley for overextending. Immediately after, MisTakE got caught by three members of NaJin. Stanley quickly teleported to save MisTakE, and with the follow up from the rest of the team, TPA were able to thwart the remaining four NaJin members for a total three for one fight.

After trading a few towers, in the 30th minute, MisTakE placed a well aimed hook, pulling MakNooN through a wall. Unable to immediately react due to the wall separating them being to thick to jump over, MakNooN was forced to spend multiple skills to escape. Giving chase, TPA clashed with the rest of NaJin, who moved to support. PraY went down quickly after an impale by Lilballz (Skarner), and without Corki's damage, NaJin was unable to fight TPA. TPA then mopped up whoever they could and pushed for an inhibitor.

Three minutes after taking the inhibitor, Lilballz would initiate the final fight on MakNooN. Lilballz went down quickly with the follow up from NaJin, however good coordination turned the team fight around for TPA taking the ace and surrender, beating NaJin 2-0 in the series.

TPA took NaJin and the world by surprise. With their overpowering presence in the group stage, NaJin was expected to win, however, TPA were able to match NaJin's aggression blow for blow and come out on top. Throughout the series, TPA seemed to have much better control over the series' team fights, making sure they got the team fights they wanted. In the first game, TPA may have been slightly underestimated. TPA did a good job at hiding their progress as a team, only allowing limited research into their play style. Game two was much closer, but NaJin was still unable to perform a strategy to overcome TPA.

MakNooN and Stanley are arguably considered the best top laners in the world, but their highly anticipated match up was completely overshadowed by the performance of Toyz. In both games, Toyz was such an overwhelming boon the the TPA line up, snowballing and exerting enormous amounts of burst damage as Orianna in game one, and being able to zone and take down enemies with Anivia in game two. His flawless performance led to two flawless games, never dying in either game, which clearly puts him in the MVP seat.
