Hollywood's favourite redhead is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro's next horror flick, Crimson Peak.
According to Variety, Emma Stone is in "early negotiations" to star in the ghost story, backed by Legendary Pictures. While plot details are thin on the ground, del Toro has said that Crimson Peak is "a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story," and that it will allow him to play with the conventions of the horror genre while subverting "the old rules."
If negotiations are successful, this will be Stone's first starring role in a straight horror film, if you don't count Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
del Toro and Lucinda Coxon are currently rewriting Crimson's Peak script, originally drafted by del Toro and Matthew Robbins. Shooting is due to start February 2014.
