Lost Planet 3 Release Date, Box Art, Pre-Order Bonuses

Despite an initial target of early 2013, Capcom has now announced that Lost Planet 3 will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 25th in North America and June 28th in Europe. The news comes along side a bevy of new info for the title, including a batch of new screenshots and the game’s box art, which you can check out below.

Capcom also showed off a new trailer, revealing that main character Jim Peyton (a Utility Rig pilot for NEVEC, or Neo-Venus Construction) will encounter a group known as the Snow Pirates on planet E.D.N. III and will form a unique bond with one in particular. According to an official product description, “while under attack from E.D.N. III’s indigenous Akrid, Jim’s Utility Rig falls down an icy fissure, leaving him unconscious and injured. Jim wakes to find himself in what appears to be a secret base, hidden beneath the planet’s frozen surface. On discovering he was rescued by one of the base’s inhabitants, Mira, the daughter of So’ichi (the Snow Pirate leader), he soon realizes that NEVEC are no longer the only occupants of E.D.N. III. With this encounter with the Snow Pirates new truths about the foreboding planet and the colonial history are set to be unveiled.”

Players who pre-order Lost Planet 3 will receive special bonuses based on the retailer they choose, including the Freedom Fighter Pack from GameStop (five unique multiplayer characters and two rig upgrades), the Assault Pack from Best Buy (three unique weapons and two rig upgrades) and the Punisher Pack from Amazon (three unique weapons and two rig upgrades).
