The Rock's Hercules Movie Lands McShane and Hurt

Did you know Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is making a Hercules movie with Brett Ratner? Because he's not too busy reviving franchises and wrestling and palling around with Navy SEALs…

Anyway, now the myth-based picture has gained a couple of actors who have surely been touched by the gods: Ian McShane and John Hurt. In perhaps less godly news, Aksel Hennie, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes and Rebecca Ferguson have also been recently cast in the film, which is said to be "taking a more grounded approach to the classic Greek hero and ditches the supernatural. Hercules is portrayed not as the son of Zeus but rather as a mortal with a fearsome reputation. He leads a team of mercenaries on a job where all is ominously not what it appears." I wonder if he'll still kill his children in a fit of madness though? Does that work for a PG-13?

McShane will play Amphiarus, "part priest, part prophet and part warrior who is Hercules’ counselor." And part c@$ksucker.
