Hey guys, welcome to Channel Surfing #200! So many episodes, so much TV discussion, so many tangents…
To celebrate this occasion, two blasts from the past return, with original Channel Surfing co-host Travis Fickett and his successor Matt Fowler both joining me once more. The plan was for Roth Cornet to also be on this podcast, for a Channel Surfing host mega-team-up, but alas, it was not to be – but you’ll hear the misadventure that occurs during the podcast itself as Roth tries to join us, only for technology to inevitably fail, as it often does on Channel Surfing.
Speaking of technology failing us, apologies for some sound issues during this podcast – there’s some notable mic problems, accompanied by lovely scratchy noises and such at various points. Again, classic Channel Surfing!
So what do we talk about? On the news front, we discuss Castle and Hannibal episodes getting delayed in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing. We then talk about Dexter’s ending finally being confirmed, Amazon releasing their new pilots -- including Zombieland -- this week, and the potential for a Heroes revival via MSN.
We then get into spoiler-filled conversations about several series, starting with Nikita, which Travis Fickett just happens to be a writer on these days. Travis and his partner, Terry Matalas, wrote this past Friday’s episode and Travis gives us some insight into how decisions were made on the huge plot turns that occurred. We then go on to share our current thoughts on The Americans, Defiance and Game of Thrones. For those of you not caught up on any of these series, here’s some timestamps for you!
Nikita: 29:00 – 42:30
The Americans: 43:00 – 51:00
Defiance: 51:00 – 1:04:30
Game of Thrones: 1:04:30 - 1:20:00
