MacBook Pro is 'Best Windows PC on the Market,' says Analyst

The PC vs Mac debate has continued unabated for years. But as Macs have grown in popularity, and Apple eventually provided an easy menthol for dual-booting with Boot Camp, the lines sometimes get a bit blurry. As mentioned by CNET, one analyst group even thinks the MacBook Pro provides the best Windows experience.

Soluto has released a new report, following research into the behavior of Windows PC laptops on a number of factors. The team looked at the consistency of crashes, hangs, Blue Screens of Death, and boot time. But at the top of the list for performance sits a machine not necessarily designed to even run the Windows operating system.

The "real world" tests were apparently conducted in the field, with the sample in the report taking a look at 1,346,000 boot-ups on a wide range of laptops. The mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro took the top honor, followed by the Acer Aspire E1-571 and Dell XPS13 in second and third place, respectively.

"A main factor in this machine’s metrics is the fact that every Windows installation on it is clean," reads the report. "With PC manufacturers loading so much crapware on new laptops, this is a bit of an unfair competition. But on the other hand, PC makers should look at this data and aspire to ship PCs that perform just as well as a cleanly installed MacBook Pro."

Granted, the MacBook Pro is also wildly expensive at $1,199, compared to the $429 price tag of the Acer Aspire. And Soluto goes on to mention the disadvantages of running Windows on a Mac, like driver issues and non-compatible keyboard layout.
