Star Wars: Legacy - Prisoner of the Floating World #2 Review

Star Wars: Legacy - Prisone of the Floating World #2 perfectly captures exactly what is so great about the Star Wars universe. It's a science fiction adventure tale with a rich cast and a great sense of fun. More than any other Star Wars book, movie, or show of recent memory, this comic nails the spirit of the original trilogy. From the visuals to the characters to the action, Star Wars: Legacy #2 is Star Wars done right.

Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman worked magic in the world of Planet of the Apes, taking the basic elements of the films and mixing them into something new and exciting that still felt nostalgic. Well, this creative team is working that same voodoo on Star Wars. They build a unique and interesting cast who feel in line with the best characters we've seen in this franchise previously. And it's fun; I can't stress that enough. That sense of adventure that many Star Wars titles of late forget is prevalent here.

If nothing else, Star Wars: Legacy is freaking beautiful. Hardman's artwork is drool worthy. Star Wars always looks best when it has that “lived in” feeling and Hardman delivers that in spades. The action scenes soar as well. You can just see the ships flying across the page; there's movement and intensity. Mix in some stunning color work by Rachelle Rosenberg and you have everything one could possibly want in a Star Wars book. Amazing work, folks.
