Earlier this year images of what may be the next 9.7-inch iPad surfaced, revealing a new design that closely resembles the iPad mini. TechCrunch has now discovered a slew of new cases for a product referred to as the iPad 5 through online retailer Alibaba. Like the previous leak, the mock ups show a thinner bezel, once again suggesting that Apple's next round of tablets will feature a more svelte body.
While it's common to see retailers sell accessories for yet-to-be-announced products, there is still a chance that the final device may look different. These manufacturers may actually have the dimensions of the upcoming device, or they could just be acting on hearsay in an attempt to get a jump on the competition. However, the new discovery, along with the older photos, tell a consistent story that isn't too tough to swallow considering that the 9.7-inch iPad hasn't received a major face lift since its original iteration in 2010.
The actual announcement and release date of Apple's next full-sized tablet is still unknown, with rumors ranging from within the next couple of months to later this year in October. Either way, we'll be on the lookout for any new information and will keep you posted.
