Ubisoft Teases New Rocksmith Announcement at E3

Ubisoft is teasing a Rocksmith-related announcement at E3. According to Ubisoft, “exciting Rocksmith news” is coming at the show, though whether that means a sequel, new DLC or something else entirely hasn’t been revealed.

Ubisoft also announced that 1.4 million copies of Rocksmith have been sold worldwide since its launch in 2011, with 3 million songs downloaded and more than 112 billion notes played. In addition, a study from the Research Strategy Group claims Rocksmith is “the fastest way to learn how to play the guitar” based on results from “hundreds of participants across greater New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas.”

“We’re thrilled with the results,” said Ubisoft senior VP of sales and marketing Tony Key. “These studies confirm our view that Rocksmith is a huge success at teaching players real guitar skills that are highly effective, enjoyable, and will last them a lifetime.”

Expect news about Rocksmith to come at Ubisoft’s E3 2013 press conference on Monday, June 10th at 3:00 p.m. Pacific.
