Plague Inc.'s upcoming 1.6 update will add competitive speed runs to the ever-popular mobile game. Gamers worldwide will be able to compete to see who can infect and kill off the world in the fewest number of days. The disease-specific leaderboards are powered by Game Center and Facebook.

The free game update also adds CDC-related content, making Plague Inc.'s world-killing diseases feel even more realistic and terrifying. CDC news headlines will now be featured, as well as "CDC teams attempting to track down Patient Zero in order to accelerate development of the cure."
Lastly, Update 1.6 introduces new government actions gamers will have to contend with. World governments can now turn off mobile and internet networks in an attempt to control their populations.
Killed everyone? Not good enough! Do it faster!
Update 1.6 will be available for free on the App Store in July, with an Android launch to follow in August.
