Vine Video Sharing App Now Available for Android

Just over a month ago, Vine revealed that the popular video sharing app that originally launched on iOS devices would soon be coming to Android, and today Twitter has announced that the app is now available through the Google Play store.

Through the app, users with Android 4.0 and higher can shoot, edit, and view 6-second video clips with the service's existing 13 million users. The videos can then be shared through Vine or can be embedded directly into your Twitter timelines. The Android version of Vine also includes the ability to zoom, a feature that is not present with the iOS app.

While Vine for Android doesn't currently have all of the tools that iPhone, iPad, and iPhone touch users have at their fingertips — such as support for front-facing cameras, search functionality, mentions, and hashtags — the company did state that the two versions will eventually be comparable, and that it actually has plans to roll out features that "could exist only on Android."

If you're an Android user that has been waiting for Vine, let us know what you think of the app in the comments below.
